Special Needs Child Care Training Course Provided by CCEI
Duluth, GA (PRWEB) May 13, 2015 -- ChildCare Education Institute® (CCEI), a distance learning professional development and certificate provider, offers CCEI968: Inclusion and Children with Special Needs as an online no-cost trial child care training course to new CCEI users during the month of May.
In education, inclusion is the practice of placing children with disabilities, or special needs, into educational environments with “typically developing” peers. But inclusion is much more than just the physical placement of children into typical, or mainstream, learning environments. This course provides participants with a greater understanding of the importance of including children with disabilities in the early childhood environment. Participants will learn basic characteristics of various disabilities or conditions, along with strategies for making reasonable accommodations for all children and their families. Upon successful completion of this course, participants should be able to define inclusion, identify characteristics of general disability categories, and define key terms related to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).
“It is extremely important to provide supportive and quality care to young children with diverse needs” says Maria C. Taylor, President and CEO of CCEI. “This course offers key information on inclusion in the classroom, and the importance of assisting these children in maximizing their potential.”
This beginner-level training course is available as a trial course to new users with CCEI account creation in May. Current CCEI users with active, unlimited annual subscriptions can enroll in professional development courses at no additional cost when logged in to their CCEI account. Users without subscriptions can purchase child care training courses as block hours through CCEI online enrollment.
