Special Talk on the Medical Perspective of Addiction Treatment by The Cabin Singapore
(PRWEB) August 14, 2015 -- The Cabin Singapore outpatient addiction clinic, in collaboration with Promises Healthcare, will be holding a mini workshop on the medical and behavioral aspects of addiction treatment, for professionals in Singapore this 18 August, 2015 at the Novena Medical Centre.
The two hour session, titled ‘Detox to Recovery,’ will feature presentations by renowned addiction treatment specialists from Asia and the West – who will speak about the therapeutic model/experiences and results, and detox from the medical perspective.
The speakers are psychiatrist Dr. Brian Wells, Group Medical Director of The Cabin Addiction Services Group, who has over 30 years of clinical experience in all aspects of addiction treatment. He is known for setting up the largest NHS substance misuse service in the UK, the founding of SHARP, a charitable intensive day-program, as well as the Centre for Research on Drugs and Health Behavior at Imperial College, London.
Dr. Muni Winslow, the founder of Promises, who has worked in general psychiatry and addiction medicine at IMH, Singapore since 1988. He has been a pioneer in treatment services for addiction and impulse control disorders (alcohol, substance dependence, gambling, gaming, sexual compulsivity etc.) in the Asia-Pacific region.
Alastair Mordey, Program Director of The Cabin Addiction Services Group, who is an accredited addiction counselor with over a decade of experience working in all four tiers of the UK's treatment system, from detox to aftercare.
