Specialty Food Association Announces Top 10 Finalists for Ad Contest
New York, NY (PRWEB) July 25, 2013 -- More than 70,000 votes were cast in the Specialty Food Association’s first-ever advertising contest, “My Story, My Ad” to determine the Top 10 finalists from a crowded field of 373 entries. The contest exceeded all expectations in terms of entries, votes and web traffic.
Specialty food professionals were asked to tell a compelling story about their passion for specialty food for the chance to win a free ad campaign and three-day trip to San Francisco for the shoot, a $15,000 value. The contest is part of the not-for-profit trade association's launch of its new brand: Specialty Food. Craft. Care. Joy.
The finalists will be judged by a panel of advertising and marketing professionals. The winner will be announced August 2.
To come up with the Top 10, voters were asked to select their favorite food stories from the inspiring batch of entries. In addition to the 70,000 votes, the online contest drew 132,000 unique page views, far exceeding expectations. The average visitor spent 1.5 minutes on the contest site, an indication that they were not just voting, but reading the stories submitted and thereby having more exposure to the Specialty Food Association’s new brand and messaging.
“We are delighted by the enthusiastic response to the contest,” says Ann Daw, president of the Specialty Food Association. “Many specialty food professionals have limited marketing funds, but are eager to share the joy and creativity they bring to their work. I think this opportunity really struck a chord.”
