Specialty Technical Publishers (STP) and Specialty Technical Consultants (STC) Publish Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Audit Protocol for Japan
North Vancouver, B.C., Canada (PRWEB) October 06, 2015 -- Specialty Technical Publishers (STP) and Specialty Technical Consultants (STC) announce the availability of the newly updated International Audit Protocol Consortium (IAPC) EHS audit protocol for Japan. Leading companies around the world use IAPC EHS audit protocols to understand the scope of their EHS regulatory obligations and rapidly collect, share, archive, and export audit findings in a cost effective manner.
IAPC EHS Audit Protocols are now prepared by STC in partnership with STP and continue to focus on those national (plus, in some cases, regional or provincial) EHS requirements that have site-specific application for manufacturing operations. As a leading EHS management consulting firm with a global network of experienced EHS teaming partners, STC has in-depth knowledge and technical expertise of local/regional EHS requirements.
STP and STC maintain leading-edge EHS audit protocols for more than 30 jurisdictions. The protocol documents are written in English and are available on CD-ROM in MS Word, Adobe Acrobat and Excel formats, as well as through STP’s web-based portal or can be integrated into an existing company platform. Using the protocols’ custom templates and advanced functionality features, auditors can easily track audit findings and manage data over time to improve compliance, risk management and safety performance. In addition, STP’s formatting is compatible with leading risk management and sustainability platform providers.
Highlights of selected legislation covered in the newly updated protocol include:
• In addition to various minor amendments, the "Energy Conservations Law" [Law No. 49 of June 22, 1979] was renamed the "Rational Use of Energy Law." Similarly, the "Cabinet Order for Energy Conservation Law" [Cabinet Order No. 267 of September 29, 1979] and the "Enforcement Regulation for Energy Conservation Law" [Ministry of the International Trade and Industry Ordinance No. 74 of September 29, 1979] were renamed the "Cabinet Order for Rational use of Energy Law" and the "Enforcement Regulation for Rational use of Energy Law," respectively. Requirements of this legislation related to energy efficiency were added to the topic module for “General Environmental” to reflect the additional scope of these country protocols.
• The "Law Concerning Recovery and Destruction of Recovery and Destruction of Fluorocarbons Relating to Specified Product" was renamed the "Rational Use and Management of Fluorocarbons Law" in accordance with significant amendment of the law (the amendment included change in name of the Law). Subsequent to amendment, the "Enforcement Regulation for Rational Use and Management of Fluorocarbons Law" [Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and Ministry of Environment Ordinance No. 7 of December 10, 2014] was promulgated and specifies compliance requirements related to "Rational Use and Management of Fluorocarbons Law."
• Amendments were made to the "Cabinet Order for Waste Management and Public Cleansing Law" [Cabinet Order No. 300 of September 23, 1971], and the "Enforcement Regulation for Waste Management and Public Cleansing Law" [Ministry of Health and Welfare Ordinance No. 35 of September 23, 1971] added 1,4-dioxane to the “Specially Controlled Industrial Waste” list and modified storage requirements for these waste types.
• The "Ordinance on Labor Standards for Women" [Ordinance No. 3 of January 27, 1986] amended the list of prohibited work activities for women (see Appendix 10-C, “Dangerous and Injurious Work”).
• "Cabinet Order for Law Concerning the Evaluation of Chemical Substances and Regulation of Their Manufacture" [Cabinet Order No. 202 of June 7, 1974] added hexabromocyclododecane to the list of” Specified Uses of Class I Specified Chemical Substances” (see Table 16-6).
