Splice Machine Selected to Become National Technical Information Service (NTIS) Joint Venture Partner
San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) October 20, 2016 -- Splice Machine, provider of the open-source SQL RDBMS powered by Hadoop and Spark, has been announced as one of 35 organizations to be selected through a merit-based process as eligible to be joint venture partners (JVPs) by the U.S. Commerce Department’s National Technical Information Service (NTIS). By becoming an NTIS JVP, Splice Machine will be eligible to be chosen to work with the NTIS on data-driven projects that are requested and funded by federal agencies.

I am confident the partnerships between NTIS and each selected organization will unlock new federal data that will leverage advances in data science, promote software development and accelerate innovation.”
The NTIS joint ventures are defined as an “NTIS – Business Partnership” where both parties invest resources to deliver a product or service to Federal agencies. These business partnerships are focused on complex data projects that require fast execution and innovative technologies and are not amenable to typical contracts or available commercial solutions. The partnership’s mission is to collect and widely disseminate federal scientific, technical, engineering and business-related information as well as to aid in the focus on providing federal customers with online data and services.
