Sponsorship and Exhibitor Space Available at the 7th Annual HBCU Career Development Marketplace Conference
Columbia, MD (PRWEB) September 27, 2013 -- The HBCU Career Development Marketplace is a unique conference whose goal it is to invite top HBCU students and give them the tools and connections needed to launch into a successful career. The deadline to participate as a sponsor or exhibitor in this conference is fast approaching as this event is about to embark for the seventh time this November 7 – 8, 2013 at the National Housing Center in Washington, DC.
The HBCU Career Development Marketplace is an inspirational event for hundreds of pre-selected top HBCU students. The conference is enhanced through the involvement of prominent HBCU alumni and provides students with a series of workshops, meetings, and networking opportunities where they can gain solid skills and first-hand knowledge about beginning their careers. Students who are chosen to attend are first vetted through their school’s career directors and they must have at least a 3.2 GPA to be eligible.
In the seven years the event has taken place, the non-profit HBCU Career Development Marketplace, Inc. has provided this conference free of charge to the students chosen to attend. The conference is funded with the help of sponsors, donations, exhibitor fees and with the help of HBCU alumni who offer their time to share their career expertise with the HBCU community. This year’s sponsors range from big names, such as IMSolutions LLC, Nordstrom, to the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, to in-kind donations such as offering transportation courtesy of O Basil Chauffeured Transportation Services and Virginia State University’s bus service. Thanks to Ben’s Chili Bowl, students can expect to be treated to this famous DC fare, too. Whether big or small, every contribution shows commitment to workplace diversity and invests in the success of HBCU graduates.
It is not too late to contribute and participate with students, faculty and career services staff from Historically Black Colleges and Universities, as well as educational advisors, speakers, panelists and, most importantly, the future leaders of America:
• As an Exhibitor: This is an opportunity to generate awareness of your company, products and services to hundreds of students from top schools and network with other notable companies and government agencies.
• As a Sponsor: Show your commitment to enhancing workplace diversity and investing in the success of HBCU graduates all while enhancing your visibility and achieving your public relations, marketing and advertising goals.
• As a Donor: Not ready to sponsor, but interested in helping financially? As a non-profit organization we strive every year to create the best experience for our HBCU students, but we need your help to continue its success. Donations of any amount are greatly appreciated.
• Attend Free Career Fair and Expo as a local student: Although the town hall sessions and workshops have already been filled by pre-selected students, our Career Fair and Expo is free to all local students.
