Sport Court and ReImagine Tennis Place Micro-Courts on Circle Line Ships During U.S. Open
New York, New York (PRWEB) September 12, 2015 -- Sport Court and ReImagine Tennis, a joint industry-wide tennis promotion initiative in partnership with the U.S.T.A. and Prince, have installed micro courts on Circle Line sightseeing cruise ships touring the Statue of Liberty in conjunction with the U.S. Open which is currently taking place in New York City.
The courts will be available on select Circle Line ships on Sept. 12-13 to make the sport of tennis more accessible during the U.S. Open. Making tennis more available in non-traditional venue is part of the overall ReImagine Tennis effort to make the sport more available to mainstream audiences, particularly youth.
“Sport Court is proud to host yet another ReImagine Tennis non-traditional, break-through opportunity for people to play tennis away from the typical club setting,” said Lee Sponaugle, Sport Court Director of Sales-Tennis. “At Sport Court we believe our role in ReImagine Tennis is to provide a safe, inviting and non-intimidating way to play the great game of tennis for everyone including youth, families and current tennis players who are more likely to play the game on a safe, high-performance, right-sized micro court. Our goal is that placing fun-sized micro courts on Circle Line sightseeing cruise ships during the U.S. Open will help draw attention to the sport and make tennis more accessible and appealing to a mainstream audience.”
