Sports Brain Announces the Launch of National Survey About Concussion Baseline Testing Practices
Deerfield, Illinois (PRWEB) February 28, 2014 -- “We are very excited about the launch of this survey because we believe that it will be an important step in educating sports organizations about the best practices in concussion baseline testing,” said Roy Kessel, Co-Founder of Sports Brain. “We were very surprised to see that there was such inconsistency in how baseline concussion testing programs were being conducted. We are hopeful that the results of this survey will encourage these organizations to improve their concussion baseline testing programs to give their athletes a better opportunity to recover after they have suffered a concussion.”
The survey should take respondents no longer than 5 minutes to complete and can be found on the front page of Sports Brain website or at a direct link at http://concussionbaselinesurvey.questionpro.com/
“We intend to continue to advocate for the health and safety of our athletes,” said Roy Kessel. “An important element of that advocacy is to push for more frequent concussion baseline testing and to accelerate the adoption rate for new technologies which can improve this process. We do not believe that a computerized neurocognitive test should be the sole benchmark against which all concussion baseline testing programs are measured. Instead, we feel it is critical that a proper, comprehensive concussion baseline testing program incorporate other elements such as eye tracking/vision and balance testing and that the baseline testing process evolve as new technologies become available and more affordable for mass baseline testing.”
