Sports Concussion Film Released Complimentary for Physicians, Parents, Coaches, and Organizations
Metairie, LA (PRWEB) June 21, 2016 -- Today, Medical Interactive released, to physicians and the public, a film—the true story of Charles, a 16-year-old who suffered a concussion in a high school soccer game. The film depicts how a sports concussion can be misdiagnosed, how imaging studies can mislead, who is a concussion expert, when the injured may return to play, and what can happen when a young athlete returns to play before a concussion is completely healed. Charles’ story illustrates what has changed in recent years in our understanding of the diagnosis and management of concussion. It will challenge and overturn some long-held beliefs about head injury.
Millions of young, amateur athletes, participating in contact sports across the country, stand to benefit from the lessons to be learned from this story. If you are involved in youth sports as a player, coach, parent, or physician, you should view this film and share it with others. Place it on your organization’s website, watch it as a family or share it with your physical education class or coaching staff. It was in that spirit and with that hope that Charles and his family shared their records and their story.
