Sports Startup FanWide Organizes Dozens of Viewing Parties for NCAA Football and NFL Teams in First Weekend
Seattle, WA (PRWEB) September 19, 2016 -- FanWide Technologies Inc.(http://www.FanWide.com) a Seattle-based sports technology startup, launched only one week ago and has signed up dozens of sports bars nationwide. FanWide is a social network for sports fans that organizes viewing parties for every team in every city. The company has released the first service designed to connect millions of sports fans with other supporters of their favorite team at local bars and restaurants that are guaranteed to be featuring their team’s game, offering a dedicated viewing experience. FanWide promoted 35 NCAA Football viewing events and 30 NFL viewing events in Seattle during its first weekend, and will be expanding throughout Washington then to Portland and Oregon.
“FanWide’s Seattle launch was a huge success with us hosting or promoting viewing parties for most of the top NCAA Football teams and almost every NFL team,” said Symon Perriman, President and Founder at FanWide. “We will continue to roll out our service nationwide to help fans connect with each other, while offering our network of bars and restaurants the opportunity to host dozens of events every week, throughout the year.”
FanWide Technologies Inc. was founded in 2016 by a group of Duke and Oregon alumni in Seattle who were avid sports fans but found themselves living outside of their teams’ local markets. Since meeting in 2007, the group has been organizing and attending viewing parties for the local alumni which allowed them to enjoy networking opportunities while exploring their newly adopted city. They soon discovered that the traditional sports viewing party experience left a lot to be desired. With no centralized platform to connect supporters with bars, interested fans were often unaware of events featuring their favorite teams, and the bars were often unprepared. The group realized that there had to be a better way and developed FanWide as a service to connect fans nationwide while bringing bars and restaurants new business every day of the week.
The company has grown to over thirty staff members and hosted its first events in Seattle on the weekend of September 17th. Venues around the country can sign up for free, and FanWide will help them attract new customers as the platform provides targeted marketing and advertising to the local fan base for the events they are hosting. Bars will also be able to see the number of local supporters in the area when they sign up to host an event, offering predictable attendance to help them optimize staffing, service, food and drink availability, resulting in a better experience for both fans and venues alike. FanWide will expand across the west coast over the next few weeks, with the next launch event happening in Portland.
The company will start offering NHL, NBA and NCAA Basketball viewing parties later this fall. Sports fans and restaurants can join FanWide for free online at http://www.FanWide.com.
