Sports Tech Startup FanWide Wins First Place at the Crowd Invest Summit
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) December 08, 2016 -- FanWide Technologies Inc. (http://www.FanWide.com) is an app for sports fans that organizes viewing parties for hundreds of teams in thousands of locations. FanWide is the first social network designed to connect millions of sports fans with other supporters of their favorite team at local bars and restaurants that are guaranteed to be featuring their game with sound. In its first three months of operations, FanWide has promoted over 7,000 NFL, NCAA Football, NBA, NCAA Basketball, NHL, MLB and soccer events for alumni groups and fan clubs nationwide.
This week FanWide pitched at the Crowd Invest Summit (http://www.crowdinvestsummit.com) and won first place. Judges included esteemed investors Phil Nadal (head of Shark Tank’s Barbara Corcoran Venture Partners), Dan Fleyshman, Mike Panesis, Sharon Amezcua and Asher Leids. To be invited to pitch at the event, FanWide received over 2,700 votes online in a preliminary contest, showing the massive appeal of the Seattle-based sports tech company.
“FanWide is excited to get this recognition and validation from influencers in the startup community as a business with high growth potential, and we’ve already received commitments from several new investors,” said Symon Perriman, President and Founder of FanWide. “FanWide solves a real problem, helping tens of millions of sports fans connect every week and bringing new customers and sales to thousands of bars nationwide.”
The Crowd Invest Summit is a crowdfunding conference and expo in Los Angeles with a mission to educate and bring together accredited and non-accredited investors with startups, issuers, and real estate investment opportunities. It introduces investors to crowdfunding startups, companies, platforms, and service providers.
“From the over 60 companies competing to pitch at our event, FanWide is without a doubt my favorite and I am very excited that they have won the pitch contest,” said Josef Holm, Co-Founder of Crowd Invest Summit.
FanWide launched its website and mobile app this September and has promoted thousands of events to sports fans who are traveling or live out-of-market from their favorite team. Through the FanWide app or website users can find the closest viewing party in a sports bar that is guaranteed to be featuring their game, with sound. Every week venues use FanWide to see how many local fans there are in the area and choose which teams they want to host from a list of upcoming games. They then bid head-to-head against each other in an auction for the right to host that game for that city, and FanWide brings them the fans.
FanWide Technologies Inc. was founded in 2016, and has grown to over twenty staff members. To support its rapid growth and popularity, FanWide has just launched its Series A investment round, under Section 506(c) of Regulation D, to allow accredited investors and institutions to acquire equity in units priced at $25,000 each.
