Springboard Biodiesel Announces November Sale on BioPro 190s and 380s, And Reminds Food Industry Professionals of Little Known Federal Tax Credit
Chico, CA (PRWEB) November 19, 2013 -- Springboard Biodiesel, a leading supplier of small-scale biodiesel processing appliances, announced on Monday that it is further incenting businesses and individuals to 'do the right thing' by selling their award-winning BioPro™ 190s and 380s at a 10% discount for the remainder of the month of November.
Since 2008, Springboard Biodiesel has been enabling restaurants, hospitality venues, schools and other institutions that feed people to convert used cooking oils into biodiesel fuel, 50 to 100 gallons at a time, for less than a dollar per gallon. This average cost is the price of the inputs and the electricity required to make biodiesel from used cooking oils, if an institution can collect their used cooking oils for free.
Springboard’s equipment has also allowed farmers to create lower-cost, more reliable fuel sources for their equipment.
In addition, Springboard Biodiesel is reminding potential biodiesel producers of a little-known federal tax credit in place until December 31, 2013. This credit, known as the “Alternative Fuel Vehicle Refueling Property” credit, enables businesses and individuals that qualify to see a further 30% deduction on the purchase price of this biodiesel-producing equipment. The form in question is IRS form 8911.
Springboard CEO Mark Roberts commented, “With a number of very attractive tax credits set to expire in 2013, we want to help as many potential small-scale producers as possible begin their biodiesel programs in 2013. We hope that our sales discounts coupled with the 30% tax credit that the government allows for select alternative energy infrastructure equipment will help small producers begin their operations before the end of the year”.
Biodiesel Industry expert Atul Deshmane of Whole Energy Fuels acknowledged that if an operator can take advantage of this credit, “This is a unique advantage of using a BioPro™ over a larger plant.” Asked if he thought the Fueling Property credit 8911 would come back in 2014, Mr. Deshmane did not hold out much hope. “Only a fool would bet on it.”
To date, Springboard has units in 16 countries and in all 50 states. The Company’s list of notable customers includes restaurants, prominent car manufacturing companies, food processing companies, the Federal Prison system and now 71 US and international educational institutions, all of which are making biodiesel in a BioPro™ processor and thereby saving money and reducing their overall green-house gas emissions.
