Wine country’s gracious and friendly wineries open their cellars for Temecula Valley Winegrowers’ passport event. Self-guided tour takes passport-holders to 30+ wineries for varietal wines from barrel, tank, or bottle perfectly paired with wine-country cuisine samplings. Wineries also compete in cork-art contest; passport-holders vote.
*2- Santa Rosa Plateau Ecological Reserve’s Spring Wildflowers (April-May)

*3-Temecula Rod Run (March 7-8)
Hundreds of fine, West Coast classic vehicles, hot rods, and custom cars, and thousands of auto-enthusiasts converge in Old Town Temecula. For Friday Night Cruise, vehicles roam, rev engines. At Saturday Show-and-Shine, freshly detailed, parked vehicles get close-up looks.
*4-Old Town Temecula Bluegrass Festival (March 14-15-16)
One of the West Coast’s finest, free festivals features concerts with a dozen top bands including James King Band, Bluegrass Etc., Sligo Rags, Salty Suites. Friday-night bands play at local restaurants; a tickets-by-advance-purchase concert is at Old Town Temecula Theater (Bayou Brothers open; Curley Taylor headlines). Saturday and Sunday, two stages host daytime concerts. Saturday evening theater-concert features Bluegrass Etc., Silverado, and James King Band.
*5- Dorland Mountain Arts Colony’s Spring Arts & Music Festival (April 6)

*8-Taste of Temecula Valley (April 26)
With California mission-style Temecula Civic Center as backdrop, Taste of Temecula Valley showcases local restaurants, wineries, microbreweries, on Old Town’s Town Square. Guests enjoy fine foods, award-winning wines, craft brews, entertainment.
*9-Temecula Wine & Music Festival (May 3)
At Vail Lake Resort, the pop, jazz, and r-and-b lineup includes artists like Brenda Russell, Phil Perry, Warren Hill, Gregg Karukas, Paul Jackson Jr., Antonio Pontarelli. Also on-site is wine tasting, award-winning Temecula Valley and California varietals.
*10-Old Town Temecula Western Days (May 17-18)
Western Days celebrates Temecula Valley’s Old West lifestyle with western music, exhibits, trick- and calf-roping. Costumed characters perform skits; Temecula Gunfighters reenact high-noon robbery of The Bank (constructed 1914; celebrating 100 years). Sunday features International Chili Society regional Cookoff with People’s Choice Tasting; winners advance to World Championships.
