St. Anne’s Awarded 10th Consecutive 4-Star Charity Rating from Charity Navigator
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) June 05, 2015 -- St. Anne’s, a renowned Los Angeles charity and a leading social service agency, has been awarded the highest possible rating by Charity Navigator for the 10th consecutive year. “Only 1% of the charities we rate have received at least 10 consecutive 4-star evaluations, indicating that St. Anne's outperforms most other charities in America. This ‘exceptional’ designation from Charity Navigator differentiates St. Anne's from its peers and demonstrates to the public it is worthy of their trust,” Charity Navigator’s Founder and Chairman of the Board John P. Dugan wrote in a congratulatory letter addressed to St. Anne’s President and CEO Tony Walker.
As the nation’s leading charity evaluator, Charity Navigator awards four stars to organizations with the highest level of fiscal management and commitment to accountability and transparency. Receiving four out of a possible four stars indicates that St. Anne’s adheres to good governance and other best practices that minimize the chance of unethical activities and consistently executes its mission in a fiscally responsible way.
“We are honored to receive this rating for the 10th year in a row. We could not have achieved this distinction without the top-notch staff at St. Anne’s. Everyone, from our maintenance crew to our counselors, teachers, program directors and executive team, works tirelessly to maintain the highest level of service to the young women, children and families we are committed to. It is truly the staff at St. Anne’s that makes our organization shine. We are also incredibly fortunate to have a board of directors and trustees that guides this organization in our continuing evolution from maternity home to a sophisticated, comprehensive social service agency.”
St. Anne’s comprehensive services include: residential treatment care, transitional housing, extended foster care, mental health, early childhood education, family literacy, family preservation, educational and vocational preparation, as well as access to, and collaborations with, other agencies and providers.
ABOUT ST. ANNE’S St. Anne’s opened in 1908 as a safe refuge for unwed mothers. Today, the organization continues as a guiding light for some of Los Angeles’ most vulnerable children, youth and families and offers comprehensive services to ensure child safety and build strong families. St. Anne’s is one of the only remaining agencies in Los Angeles County committed to a forgotten population – pregnant and parenting young women in the child welfare and juvenile justice systems – and was one of the first providers of extended foster care. St. Anne’s goal is to strengthen families from the inside out and to nurture the safety, success and hope of at-risk parents and children.
