London, UK (PRWEB) December 13, 2013 -- The new addition to Star’s air cooled Indigochiller range uses the synthetic refrigerant R1234ze, which has a low Global Warming Potential of 6. This is a highly energy efficient, low noise chiller solution for building services, HVAC and process cooling.
Star teamed up with Danfoss Turbocor and Honeywell when developing the new range of Indigochiller at their design and manufacturing facilities in Glasgow, Scotland.
A year of factory and field testing followed to verify performance, and analysis of the data collected has confirmed that the HFO Indigochiller delivers increased efficiency and lower total cost of ownership (TCO).
The Indigochiller range has a unique method of construction designed to minimize the risk of refrigerant leakage and increase an efficient operating life of 20+ years.
The system includes welded steel pipes, bellows, seal valves and epoxy coated condenser fins as standard, ensuring high build quality and leak tightness.
“This development is part of our long-term customer care strategy. It allows us to give our customers confidence that we can help them transition to low GWP refrigerants moving forward, and at the same time, reduce operating costs.
We remain invested in the long-term success of our customers and ensure they are prepared so they can be more efficient, productive in what they do, and also meet the energy requirements and regulations, which are becoming more severe as time goes on,” says Star’s Group Sales & Marketing Director Dr. Robert Lamb.
For more than 40 years, Star Refrigeration have led the way to new discoveries in refrigeration technology that help customers with the challenges they face. The increasing European and International pressures to ban some HFCs and phase-down their use has prompted the company to develop an innovative and environmentally conscious solution that combines high efficiency and low GWP.
