Stardock and BonusXP Launch Sci‐Fi RTS Servo into Early Access
Plymouth, MI (PRWEB) May 28, 2015 -- The rebirth of real-time strategy gaming continues with today’s launch of Servo into Steam Early Access, available now at Steam for $19.99. This sci-fi RTS gives players the power to reconfigure their forces’ leaders – enormous mechanical combat units called Servos – as they earn new parts in battle, customizing their armies as they compete in intense cooperative and PvP scenarios.
Servo’s entrance into Early Access is driven by developer BonusXP’s desire to get the game in front of real players while there is still time to incorporate their feedback in meaningful ways. The Dallas-based studio, which includes key creative talent from the beloved Age of Empires series, has fully funded Servo’s development in partnership with publisher Stardock. This Early Access beta is strictly for testing and feedback in advance of the Servo’s release later in 2015.
“As a huge RTS player myself, I couldn’t help but be taken in by Servo’s potential from the first time BonusXP pitched it to us,” said Stardock founder, CEO, and diamond league player Brad Wardell. “Adding customization and progression to the traditional RTS format is such a natural fit, and BonusXP has come up with a great implementation of it."
Win or lose, each battle in Servo brings players closer to new parts, pilots, and Servos for use in designing their team. Creating an amazing roster of Servos to drop into combat is only part of the equation, though, as traditional RTS skills and tactics from economic harassment, forward base building, rapid expansion, and aggressive creeping are core genre tenets that the development team holds close to their hearts.

Servo’s Early Access beta includes the core gameplay and progression from day one, and will grow over the coming months with tons of additional content and features. Many maps, Servos, pilots, parts, and more will be added to the game over time, and multiplayer will be enhanced by innovative matchmaking, leaderboards, leagues, and ladders as release draws closer.
