Starion Energy, Inc. Completes Toys for Tots Drive at Company Headquarters
Middleburry, CT (PRWEB) December 24, 2014 -- Starion Energy, Inc. has completed its annual holiday Toys for Tots drive with its biggest turnout yet.
“The company response to the toy drive was just tremendous,” said customer support representative Wendy Draskovic. “I hope the kids will be very happy to see what we’ve brought them this year!”
The staff collected enough gifts to fill three large moving boxes. Barbie dolls, Legos, Play-Doh, stuffed animals, educational games, sports equipment popular board games, coloring books and more were all included. The drive ran from just after the company’s Thanksgiving food drive in November through Dec. 18.
This is the fourth year Starion Energy, Inc. has donated to the national charity.
Toys for Tots is managed by the United States Marine Corps Reserve and headquartered in New Orleans. For 54 years, it has been collecting toys to distribute to children whose parents and caregivers cannot afford gifts.
Originally, the charity encouraged people to give lightly used gifts to the less fortunate. It now serves all 50 states, and anyone can organize a collection of new, packaged toys to donate. Only new toys are accepted due to both health and safety concerns and the desire to make children feel that they are deserving of new toys. Donations are typically accepted between October and mid or late December.
Draskovic said that working with Toys for Tots is just one of the ways the company tries to be positively involved in its community. “We always want to be a part of our community,” she said, “but especially around the holidays. This should be a time of joy for everyone.”
Draskovic also shared that the company was proud of its employees for pulling together to achieve a common goal in such a short amount of time.
“We feel that it is our responsibility to make sure kids in Connecticut have a wonderful holiday season this year,” she said. “When those who are less fortunate are struggling to provide toys for their kids, we want to do everything we can to help.”
