Stars and Stripes Welcomes U.S. Military Members to Their New Communities in the Pacific with Updated Publication
Tokyo, Japan (PRWEB) August 20, 2015 -- U.S. service members and civilians in the Pacific have an updated resource to help them enjoy living in their new communities — in and around military bases — with the new Welcome to the Pacific, available in three editions: South Korea, Guam, Japan (mainland and Okinawa).
The Stripes Welcome to the Pacific, formerly known as the Stripes Annual Manual, offers up-to-date resources and information for the entire U.S. military community—especially for service members and their families who are just arriving in the Pacific theater.
Oscar Johnson, editor of the 2015 Welcome to the Pacific, explains, "For many years, the Stripes Annual Manual has been an essential guide for military members settling into their new Pacific duty stations. This recently renamed edition maintains its status as a must-have for everyone in the U.S. military community by offering tips ranging from how to buy, rent or drive a vehicle and navigating local laws to exploring cultures and attractions outside the base gates."
The Stripes Welcome to the Pacific published on August 14, 2015, inside the Stars and Stripes newspaper and was distributed free of charge at community centers, housing offices, and other military base locations across the Pacific region. In addition, the guide can be found online at http://www.stripes.com/special-publications/welcome-to-the-pacific.
