Stars of Sports, Comedy, and Art to Highlight "9 Seconds" Launch Party
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) April 24, 2015 -- Producers of the upcoming feature film "9 Seconds" are hosting a launch party at Imperial Art Studios in the Downtown LA Arts District, 695 S. Santa Fe Avenue (between 7th and Jesse Streets) on April 30th, 2015 starting at 8:00 PM. Award winning comedian/actor Joel Bryant will host the event which will feature several surprise guests including five-time NBA all-star and The Beast 980 morning host Marques Johnson. There will be music, a variety of unique food and spirits from local vendors, displays by local artists, and a silent auction. In addition five, 42" LCD televisions will be given away. The public is invited and admission is free.

Among the other special guests scheduled to attend is acclaimed Finnish-American sculptor Eino. Throughout his 50 years as an artist, Eino has completed hundreds of works of stone, bronze, and onyx for public display and private collections. He will be displaying some of his art as well as signing copies of his latest book. All proceeds and donations will benefit the film’s crowd funding campaign.
Other notables from the world of sports and television, including Fox Sports 1 Anchor Greg Wolf, will also be in attendance.
The film "9 Seconds" will chronicle the true story of Houston McTear, a one-in-a-billion athlete, who rose from poverty to worldwide fame after tying the world record in the 100-yard dash while in high school during the fall of 1975. But his promising career was upended by injuries, a famous con man, and the US boycott of the 1980 Olympic Games. He then descended into homelessness and drug addiction before rising again later in life to find redemption and triumph.
Imperial Art Studios is a 110,000 square-foot venue comprised of multiple structures including raw warehouses, art galleries, creative offices, and film/photo space. It has become one of the fastest growing locations in Los Angeles for art installations, film and television production, and urban artwork.
