Over the years, the duo have written and produced hundreds of songs including many that have been considered “cerebral, wry and eccentric.” They are known as performers that will not stop until their songs sound the way they envisioned and in the case of their 1980 album, Gaucho, more than 40 musicians and nearly a dozen producers were hired to complete the seven song record over the course of the year-long process.
The group saw its greatest impact on the music business come in the 1970s, but they are still an act that their fans will pay to see live. Their catalog of music features nine studio albums, as well as two live releases and 14 compilations. Their debut album, Can’t Buy a Thrill, has been certified platinum in the United States by the Recording Industry Association of America for selling more than a million copies. Their first eight albums were certified at least gold by the RIAA and their most popular album was their 1977 release, Aja. The album peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 200 album charts and was certified platinum twice by the RIAA.
Among the songs that their fans will hope to hear live on the “Jamalot Ever After” tour include their debut single from 1972, “Do It Again.” The song was one of their best ever in terms of moving up the Billboard singles charts, reaching the No. 6 spot. Other songs fans will want to hear include “Rikki Don’t Lose That Number,” “Peg,” “Hey Nineteen,” “Black Friday,” “Deacon Blues,” “Cousin Dupree,” and “The Fez.”
This tour will take the duo to many of the biggest cities on the continent and many of the most-known venues for top music acts.
