STEM Online Child Care Training Course from CCEI Advances Exploration, Discovery, & Problem-Solving
Duluth, GA (PRWEB) December 16, 2013 -- ChildCare Education Institute® (CCEI), an online child care training course and certificate provider, is proud to announce the introduction of CUR106: STEM in Early Childhood Education to the catalog of online professional development courses.
This course provides basic information about STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education so early childhood educators can promote the development of foundational science and math skills in young children. The presence of STEM in early curriculum encourages the enjoyment of exploration, discovery, and problem-solving. Identifying major branches of science, developmentally appropriate activities, and the Project Approach are primary topics in this course. Appropriate use of technology, optimal content areas, and the importance of integrating arts and sciences are also included within the two clock-hour training.
"STEM education is so imperative to prepare children for elementary school and beyond," said Maria C. Taylor, President and CEO of CCEI. "CCEI’s STEM course gives early childhood educators ways to incorporate developmentally appropriate activities into their daily lessons that lay the foundation to build critical science and math skills."
This beginner-level two-hour training course grants 0.2 IACET CEUs upon successful completion. Current CCEI students with active, unlimited annual subscriptions can enroll in all courses at no additional cost when logged in to their CCEI account. Users without subscriptions can purchase child care training courses as block hours through online enrollment.
