STEMlete, a New STEM-Focused Community, Launches Today
Reston, VA (PRWEB) April 23, 2014 -- There are several websites that enable the self-promotion of student athletes, but there is nothing analogous for an individual who has a passion in STEM. STEMlete, a play on the word athlete, is a new, online, global community for people who are passionate and brilliant in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM). STEMlete is officially launching today to the public after a two-month beta test with over 300 users representing 30 countries.
STEMlete’s mission is to enable students, academia, and industry professionals to:
> Exhibit their excellence
> Share their knowledge
> Improve their performance
> Get recognized
> Establish a following
> Be recruited and succeed
On STEMlete, registered users can utilize a free set of capabilities to globally connect, communicate, collaborate, and create across different disciplines, countries, academic and professional levels, and languages.
STEMlete is a place where users can share their knowledge and increase their performance by learning from others who share their passions and interests. By creating a social community specifically for and focused on STEM, it is STEMlete’s vision to change the focus of society and better humankind and the environment by enabling global innovation.
STEMlete is also exhibiting at two STEM-focused events in Washington, DC this week - the U.S. News STEM Solutions Conference and the USA Science and Engineering Festival.
