Step for Hope and Raise Brain Aneurysm Awareness
Hanover, MA (PRWEB) August 28, 2014 -- Now in its 4th year, Step for Hope is a run/walk that was started in 2011 by two brain aneurysm survivors. The ongoing mission of Step for Hope is to raise much needed awareness, provide education to help increase early detection and to help support individuals and families who have been impacted by a brain aneurysm. We hope that you will be able to join this remarkable event and support a worthy cause at the 4th Annual Step for Hope Run/ Walk on Saturday, September 6, 2014.
Founded in 2011 by Roopa Brahmbhatt and Lauren Melnick—two young women, both survivors of brain aneurysms—who consider themselves forever linked by fate, and on a mission to raise awareness, provide education to increase early detection, and to help support individuals and families who have been affected by a brain aneurysm.
This year’s event is scheduled to take at Bierman Park in Carol Stream, IL. Registration opens at 7:30am. The 5k run starts at 9:00am, and a 1.5-mile walk begins at 9:10am. The cost to participate is only $30 for ages 12 and up, and $20 for children under 12. Parking is free. The event is completely volunteer-driven, and all proceeds go directly to the Brain Aneurysm Foundation.
The event will also include raffle prizes and a post race celebration at Anyway’s Grill & Pub in Bloomingdale, IL.
