Stephen Ascuaga Joins The Peppermill Casinos, Inc. as State-Wide Director of Business Development
Reno, NV (PRWEB) February 20, 2015 -- Stephen Ascuaga, the former Chief Operating Officer of John Ascuaga’s Nugget, has joined The Peppermill Casinos, Inc. as the state-wide corporate director of business development.
In this new role specifically created for him, Ascuaga will develop new state-wide business partnerships, and lead corporate and community relations. The new position highlights The Peppermill’s confidence in the growth of Nevada’s economy and the new corporate partnership opportunities that are possible between one of the state’s largest hospitality companies and the major corporations growing or relocating in Nevada. Ascuaga will also work on regional economic development issues such as air service.
Ascuaga grew up learning every facet of the operations of his father’s company, John Ascuaga’s Nugget. He led marketing and operations in his more than 23 years at the Sparks casino, and spent the last nine years as the casino’s chief operating officer. Under the leadership of John, Michonne and Stephen Ascuaga, the casino developed a reputation for deep community partnerships, philanthropy and legendary customer service. Ascuaga sees his role at The Peppermill as a continuation of that community focus.
“The Peppermill has a dynamic team and has done a great job building up the next generation of talent in gaming and hospitality,” said Ascuaga. “I am excited to be part of such a special team and get back into the hospitality environment that I grew up in.”
Ascuaga will work closely with Peppermill General Manager Billy Paganetti and other department directors within the organization.
“Stephen has such a deep knowledge in all aspects of management and operations in the casino, hotel, special events and hospitality industry,” said Paganetti. “When you see the talent out there like Stephen that you can add to your team, you add it whether you have a position open or not.”
Ascuaga will work from The Peppermill Reno, but will also frequently travel and work at the organization’s Las Vegas and Wendover properties.
