Stephen Kalani Brady, MD, Recognized For Contributions To Health Care

Stephen Kalani Brady, MD, is a distinguished biographee of Marquis Who's Who. Since the turn of the century, he has been listed among the Best Doctors in America. Dr. Brady has been featured in a wide range of honors publications, including Who's Who in America, Who's Who in Finance and Industry, Who's Who in Medicine and Healthcare, Who's Who in Science and Engineering, Who's Who in the West and Who's Who in the World. In addition, he was previously named Physician of the Year by the Hawaiian Medical Association in 2007.

As a young child, Dr. Brady decided to pursue a career that would allow him to help people. Naturally, he gravitated toward the medical field. Dr. Brady went on to receive a Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, from Harvard University in 1977 and Master of Public Health from the University of Hawaii in 1978. Upon completing postgraduate coursework through the University of Hawaii, he attended the University of Pennsylvania, where he received an MD in 1982. Dr. Brady completed an internship and residency in internal medicine through the University of Hawaii. Early in his career, he served as a physician with the Kaiser Permanente Honolulu Medical Office and as a physician and medical director with Kokua Kalihi Valley. Since 1989, Dr. Brady has been recognized as a U.S. Merchant Marine.

Dr. Brady has been recognized as an associate professor with the John A. Burns School of Medicine at the University of Hawaii at Manoa since 2003. A respected voice in the field of medicine, he previously served as the interim chair, vice chair, clinical assistant professor and clinical instructor within the Department of Native Hawaiian Health. In addition, Dr. Brady is noted as the former assistant medical director and physician with American Hawaii Cruises and physician with Waianae Coast Comprehensive Health Center. Presently, he is recognized as an editor with the Hawai'i Journal of Medicine & Public Health and chair of the Continuing Medical Education Committee with the Hawaii Medical Association. Dr. Brady also appears as a co-host of an Ask the Doctor segment with the KHON Morning News. Between 2009 and 2013, he served as the governor of the Hawaii chapter of the American College of Physicians, and in 2014 was named a Master of the American College of Physicians.
