Steve Murphy Joins Mercator Advisory Group
Boston, MA (PRWEB) January 12, 2016 -- Mercator Advisory Group is pleased to announce the addition of Steve Murphy, a financial services industry veteran, to its team as the Director for the company's Commercial and Enterprise Payments Advisory Service.
"Steve brings a long record of financial services experience and achievement, working at Citibank in various senior consumer and commercial payments roles, as well as e-banking businesses. Steve has spent the past seven years in research and advisory roles, with TowerGroup, CEB and as independent consultant. Steve also teaches graduate business courses at both the Zicklin School of Business (City University of New York) and the Touro College Graduate School of Business. In his role at Mercator Advisory Group, Steve will be focused on both the rapidly changing landscape of commercial payments and banking opportunities to help meet the vast challenges ahead," stated Robert Misasi, CEO of Mercator Advisory Group.
Steve’s professional credentials include roles in consumer cards spanning credit operations, fraud policy, marketing, and product development. He was a pioneering member of e-Citi, launching the EBPP business, and worked closely with the Citibank consumer e-banking team. On the corporate side, after joining the Citi Transaction Services division, he oversaw the commercial cards European business expansion and subsequently, as part of the regional transaction banking team in Hong Kong, built Citibank's Asia-Pacific commercial cards start-up business covering the Asia-Pacific region. Steve then became the North America market manager for Citi commercial cards. His research and advisory background includes areas such as transaction banking, payments/payables, receivables, trade services and life-cycle management across business segments and channels. Steve has conducted targeted research in areas such as digital banking, electronic invoicing, client servicing, enterprise integration, automated payables and receivables, commercial credit cards, client onboarding and supply chain finance.
Steve’s broad perspective on industry trends and emerging technologies enables him to identify new opportunities for his clients. It is this insight that will fuel the research and consulting initiatives of Mercator’s Commercial and Enterprise Payments Advisory Service moving forward.
Steve holds an MBA from St. John’s University and a BS from City University of New York.
