Stevens Institute of Technology’s Online Programs Rank Among Nation’s Best by U.S. News & World Report
Hoboken, NJ (PRWEB) January 15, 2016 -- Stevens Institute of Technology’s online graduate programs are ranked among the best in the nation, according to the 2016 edition of U.S. News & World Report’s Best Online Graduate Programs, released on January 12.
Stevens’ online graduate program in information technology is ranked 10th by the publication, and online graduate business programs came in at #33. In addition, the magazine ranked the online graduate engineering program at #38 and the online MBA program ranked 88th. The ranking is based on a survey where respondents are ranked based on student engagement, faculty credentials and training, student services and technology, and admissions selectivity.
“Our online courses are designed to be immediately applied to solve real-world challenges and it is rewarding to receive this recognition as our online enrollment continues to grow,” said Stevens Provost George Korfiatis.
A 13-year leader in online education, Stevens currently offers 19 online graduate programs through its online platform WebCampus to provide busy professionals with real-time and recorded webinars, video and other multimedia support, Q&A sessions and convenient interaction with faculty.
“With our extensive experience offering programs and full degrees online, we have refined the online experience enabling students to communicate, collaborate and obtain the information they require quickly and easily. We will always strive to improve our online programs,” added Provost Korfiatis, “but this distinction validates our plans to grow our offerings to provide students a true advantage in their professional lives.”
Online degrees available at Stevens include: master of engineering in computer engineering, master of science in computer science, master of science in cybersecurity, master of engineering in engineering management, master of science in enterprise computing, master of science in financial engineering, master of engineering in information data engineering, master of science in management, master of business administration, master of pharmaceutical manufacturing, master of science in software engineering, and master of engineering in systems engineering.
This is the fifth year that U.S. News has ranked online degree programs. The list is intended primarily for “working adults – often in their 30s or 40s – who may not have the flexibility to leave the workforce to take classes during the day but still wish to obtain commensurate education, skills and credentials to boost their careers,” according to the magazine.
The U.S. News ranking follows recent recognition by the U.S. Distance Learning Association, which named Stevens’ WebCampus the 2015 winner of the 21st Century Award for Best Practices in Distance Learning.
