Stomping New Single From Scottish Band Lonehead
Glasgow, Scotland (PRWEB UK) 24 July 2015 -- The Caledonian rock machine release their single Monkey Boots, an up-tempo catchy number with an unusual focus. The track, proving to be popular in their live sets, will feature on the forthcoming album to be announced soon.
The foot-stomping release from Lonehead comes with their signature double video, one live and one scripted. “We love making the scripted visuals that accompany the Lonehead releases,” says lead vocalist Martin Jenkins. “It’s great fun and we think it showcases the music perfectly.”
No surprise that their muse, The Who, also wore actual Monkey Boots and also no coincidence that Guitarist ‘Uncle’ Jim Keilt, one of the city’s most recognizable talents, has previously lent his fret wizardry to the original West End production of The Who’s Tommy to the approval of Pete Townshend. “I’m sure Pete would approve of the homage to the band’s choice of footwear.” said Jim Keilt. Completing the three man line-up is drummer Mark Brown, best known for his tenure with Cosmic Rough Riders who released five albums for Alan McGee’s Poptones label.
Lonehead’s reverence for trailblazing pioneers such as Cream and The Who is finely balanced and tempered with a healthy respect for their modern day descendants in the shape of Manic Street Preachers and fellow Scots Biffy Clyro. It’s a heady mix and potent mix, to be sure, and one that has resulted in a stunning collection of music that takes the best of its inspiration whilst possessing an undeniable and identifiable character of its own.
Yet how could it be any different? Hewn from the rock face that is Glasgow’s uncompromising rock scene, Lonehead is the result of what happens when three colossal talents collide to forge something new and irresistibly exciting.
