Stonebridge Companies’ DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Grand Junction Announces 2015 Community Service Initiatives
Grand Junction, CO (PRWEB) February 18, 2015 -- The DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Grand Junction’s CARE Committee, made up of team members from every department across multiple levels in the hotel, has proudly introduced the Change for Kids Aid and Backpack Program as the hotel’s first community service initiatives of 2015. The DoubleTree by Hilton CARE Culture encourages team members at every level to create rewarding experiences for guests, the communities they proudly serve, and each other.
In an ongoing effort to support the education of local children, the Change for Kids Aid program encourages team members to donate their spare change to the jars placed throughout the hotel. Kids Aid, a local non-profit organization, will use the donated change to support local families who are unable to afford school supplies or lunch. Additionally, the charity uses a portion of the proceeds to support their Feeding Friends Backpack program, which provides underprivileged children with a backpack full of healthy and nutritious food to eat at home throughout the weekend.
The second hotel program encourages team members to wear jeans on the last Friday of every month. Those who participate in Jeans Day donate $5.00 to the hotel’s Backpack Program, which the CARE Committee collects throughout the year to purchase backpacks and school supplies for hotel employees who are unable to afford supplies for their children prior to returning to school in August or September.
