Stonebridge Companies Residence Inn by Marriott Pullman Partners with Moscow Mardi Gras to Help Those Impacted by Washington, Idaho and Montana Fires
Pullman, WA (PRWEB) September 10, 2015 -- Throughout August 2015, fires spread throughout the Northwest causing many homes to burn to the ground and entire towns to be evacuated. With the largest fire burning two hours south of Pullman, Residence Inn Pullman at Washington State University partnered with Moscow Mardi Gras, local children’s charity non-profit, to collect donations to send to those impacted by the fires. The Residence Inn made 250 toiletry kits, with each kit including: shampoo, conditioner, lotion, soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, bath towel, hand towel and washcloth. Working with Moscow Mardi Gras, the Residence Inn also created 35 backpacks filled with school supplies and 35 “fun” bags with puzzles, card games, glow sticks and books for children impacted by the fires. Lightning Elite Cheer Club of Moscow, ID came to the hotel to help employees assemble the kits and backpacks.
To provide further relief, the Residence Inn by Pullman became a donation site for the community with employees and guests donating food, water, clothes, pet food, baby items, etc. A meeting room was used as a staging area before a truck came nightly to take donations down.
The Residence Inn by Marriott Pullman opened on Washington State University’s campus in May of 2014, making it the only on-campus hotel for Washington State University.
