Stop Hunger Now and BNY Mellon Partner for Philippines Relief
Raleign, NC (PRWEB) November 18, 2013 -- BNY Mellon, the global leader in investment management and investment services, has joined forces with Stop Hunger Now to aid victims of Typhoon Haiyan. The company is donating $25,000 to help Stop Hunger Now ship 100,000 packaged meals to the Philippines. BNY Mellon will also match donations made by its employees toward the Typhoon Haiyan relief effort .

Stop Hunger Now is shipping one million meals to the Philippines as part of ongoing disaster relief operations in response to the devastation as a result of Typhoon Haiyan. The first container with 285,120 meals departed Nov. 13, 2013, and additional containers of meals will be shipped over the next few days. In addition to meals, Stop Hunger Now is organizing the shipment of other critical supplies such as medicine, medical supplies, water filters and hygiene kits. The Stop Hunger Now Malaysia affiliate also is providing on-the-ground assistance to the storm-ravaged area.
Stop Hunger Now has a track record of providing meals in response to disasters. After the earthquake in Haiti in 2010, Stop Hunger Now shipped more than 8 million meals to support relief efforts.
