Story2 Launches Enhanced Online College Essay Toolkit For The 2015-16 Admission Cycle
New York, NY (PRWEB) July 23, 2015 -- Story2 (https://www.story2.com/), an innovative EdTech company that has taught more than 20,000 students how to tell their stories and use the neuroscience of storytelling to write authentic college admission essays, is launching an enhanced version of its EssayBuilder™ product line in time for the annual release of the Common Application and the 2015-2016 College Admission cycle. The new offerings expand students’ ability to plan and complete admission, scholarship and honors program essays through the College Essay Planner for researching colleges’ essays and deadlines, and an adaptive platform that teaches students how to complete eight specific types of essay questions.
At the core of Story2’s products is the online EssayBuilder, an interactive, step-by-step toolkit that helps students access the power of storytelling to unlock their authentic stories. The toolkit teaches students how to write essays that convey who they are and connect powerfully with readers at college admissions offices. Students follow this process online by choosing their topic, recording a story from their own experiences and then systematically working through the structure and content, sentence by sentence, to write successful first-person essays. Students can also join Story2’s community of storytellers to listen and learn from others’ stories and become inspired to record and share stories from their own unique experiences.
The new College Essay Planner enables students to research colleges, and find the prompts and deadlines for the additional essays those colleges require. The College Essay Planner is integrated into the EssayBuilder program, helping students not only write essays, but to plan and organize all of the ones they have to write. This is important because, on average, students apply to five to eight colleges and need to write more than 10 essays for admissions, scholarships, and honors programs. Most students, however, don’t realize this fact until the last minute and by then it is often too late to have the time to compose and submit their best essays.
“Our goal is to expand college access by providing college-bound students and their families the resources they need at an affordable cost,” said CEO and founder, Carol Barash, PhD. “We've kept our EssayBuilder toolkit free so students from all backgrounds can tap into the brain’s love of stories to write authentic college essays. But Story2 is much bigger than college admissions: learning how to tell your own unique stories—plus core skills of planning, reflection, collaboration and self-advocacy--sets students up for career and life success.”
The Story2 EssayBuilder™ is offered in three packages so students get the level of support they need:
• Story2 Builder is free to all students, enabling students to plan, organize and complete their personal essay with EssayBuilder, find their colleges’ essay prompts and be inspired by community stories.
• Story2 Plus empowers students through unlimited use of EssayBuilder to complete and manage all their essays, and learn from expert written feedback how to reveal their unique character. This feedback is provided by a trained Story2 coach and includes an assessment of the essay’s strengths and weaknesses, in-line feedback with specific comments and questions, and a rubric analysis evaluating how the student’s essay stacks up in key elements of successful college admission essays. The Plus offering is available for $99.
• Story2 Premium gives students unlimited access to write with EssayBuilder, three rounds of expert written feedback and one hour of personalized coaching with an online Story2 essay coach to complete essays that are authentic, cohesive and on target for each college. The Premium offering is available for $349, with additional coaching as an option.
