StraighterLine and Franklin University Partner to Provide Flexible and Affordable Pathways to a College Degree
Baltimore, MD (PRWEB) February 29, 2016 -- StraighterLine, the fastest-growing provider of low-cost, online general education courses, has partnered with Franklin University to provide an efficient, affordable and transferable pathway for college students.
StraighterLine Founder and CEO Burck Smith said, “We’re thrilled to partner with Franklin University, who has been a pioneer in providing opportunities to adult students seeking degree completion. By making it simple to transfer credits from StraighterLine to Franklin, this partnership is helping students achieve their academic goals.”
As an accredited, nonprofit institution and a leader in online learning, Franklin University provides academic programs for students from all walks of life, all across the country, and all around the world. The mission of being a student-centered institution reflects a commitment to putting students first by eliminating barriers, providing flexibility in course delivery, and providing services and resources to support student success.
“Franklin University has built its reputation on improving access to relevant, high-quality academic programs for students who balance their educational goals with other commitments,” said Dr. David R. Decker, President, Franklin University. “By establishing partnerships with organizations such as StraigherLine, we are able to leverage our generous transfer policy to provide a greater community of learners with a faster and more affordable means of completing their education.”
At Franklin University, 90 percent of undergraduate students transfer college credits from at least one other institution. To help provide insight into the value of this previously earned credit, the University created myTransferCredit, an online tool that links prospective students directly to the University’s transfer credit database. In addition to providing free, real-time transfer equivalencies between Franklin degree requirements and courses taken previously elsewhere, myTransferCredit shows prospective students which Franklin majors give them the best return on their credit by providing estimated degree completion dates and a monetary value of the credit toward the total cost of the degree.
