StraighterLine Partners with University of New England to Make Degree Completion Easier for Students
Baltimore, MD (PRWEB) July 28, 2015 -- StraighterLine, an industry leader in providing low-cost, online general education courses, has partnered with University of New England (UNE) to provide flexible degree completion options for college students. As part of the articulation agreement, UNE will allow students to transfer courses from StraighterLine’s affordable, self-paced, online courses.
Founded in 1831, UNE educates more Maine students in the health professions than any other institution in the state. Now these students can benefit from attending one of the “Best Regional Universities,” according to U.S. News and World Report, while saving money and time by taking StraighterLine courses.
Of the partnership, StraighterLine founder and CEO Burck Smith says, “Opinion poll after opinion poll show that American are worried about the price of college. With this partnership, University of New England and StraighterLine are helping to bring down the price for students in Maine and across the country.”
About University of New England
UNE is leading the transformation of global health sciences education. Beyond mere "training," they provide a full and integrated education preparing their graduates for evolving health care professions.
In addition to their 27 health sciences disciplines, the full range of liberal arts classes and majors makes UNE a unique participatory, educational environment. No matter what degree or profession students are pursuing, the interdisciplinary learning turns out scholars and professionals who can adapt and prosper.
At UNE, students enjoy an active life beyond the classroom, too. They learn and grow in important ways through involvement in undergraduate research, internships and clinical rotations, international travel through our Global Education Program, and community service through our Citizenship Seminar and service learning programs.
Students will also find more than 60 student clubs to join, and a championship athletics program that brings together students, alumni, faculty and staff to cheer for the Nor'easters.
