Strangers in Strange Lands: Carnegie Council Multimedia Resources on Migrants and Refugees
(PRWEB) August 15, 2016 -- In 2015, the number of international migrants worldwide—people residing in a country other than their country of birth—reached a record-breaking 244 million, according to the International Organization for Migration. And 65.3 million of these migrants were refugees, people forcibly displaced from their homes by conflict and persecution (UNHCR. June 2016). This is the largest number of refugees since World War II.
The ethical issues presented by migration have long been a topic of major concern for Carnegie Council for Ethics in International Affairs. The current crisis has intensified this. Here is a selection of some of the Council's recent resources looking at various aspects of the issue, along with some older, useful material.
