Strategic Risk Associates Launches Investor Services Division; Andy Ferguson and Ray Santelli Join Strategic Risk Associates

SRA also welcomes Virginia Bankers Andy Ferguson and Ray Santelli as the Co-Directors of the Bank Investor Services Division. Both Ferguson and Santelli are strong bankers with excellent experiences supporting bank investors.

With over 30 years of banking experience, Ferguson has extensive knowledge in Commercial Credit & Lending, Risk Management, Policy Development, Special Assets, Loan Review, and working with Bank Examiners and Auditors. As the Chief Credit Officer for First Capital, he led efforts to clean up a troubled commercial loan portfolio and re-engineer the credit process. He also assisted in the raising of $18 million in capital, and enabled the bank to grow its loan portfolio by nearly 40% over the next 3+ years. Ferguson was a member of the management team, and participated in all aspects of running the bank which also included numerous due diligence efforts as well as multiple Federal Reserve Bank Exams. He also worked closely with the bank’s largest investor helping him oversee his investment in First Capital as well as consider investments in non-competing banks. Prior to First Capital, Ferguson was the Chief Credit Officer of First Market Bank. Prior to First Market, he held leadership roles at Crestar Bank/Suntrust and Meridian Bank.
With over 20 years in commercial lending and special asset management, Santelli brings a strong experience in originating and underwriting commercial loans, and managing and liquidating problem loans. As the Senior Vice President - Special Assets for First Capital, he led the bank’s asset resolution plan which reduced classified assets and OREO by 80% and enabled the bank to book a large recovery. As a member of an independent investment team, he was able to conduct due diligence for prospective bank equity injections. Prior to joining First Capital, he was a business banker for BB&T and a credit analyst for Fidelity Federal Savings Bank.
