In 1970 local Aspen pioneering developer Nick Coates made his first trip to see a 2.5 acre parcel on the Roaring Fork River near the small community of farmers and ranchers known as Woody Creek. Formerly owned by Doc Henry, Aspen’s first dentist, it was love at first sight and Coates bought the property immediately. In the early 1980s he purchased the adjacent 2.5 acre parcel, creating the current estate now at five full acres. Sitting on a broad river bench just minutes away from downtown Aspen, the grounds feature an elegantly landscaped yard with a 1/3 acre pond, a bridge, a waterfall and over 560 feet of Roaring Fork River frontage.
“We are building two riverfront homes here,” said Kim Coates, Nick’s daughter, “and I am thrilled that we picked Structural Associates to do our job.
