Stuart Millheiser Recognized As Everyday Hero For ALS Charity
San Juan Capistrano, California (PRWEB) September 04, 2014 -- Stuart Millheiser, CEO and founder of ALS Angels (a 501(c)(3) charity) a charity set up to help people who suffer from ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) as well as their family members was recently named an “Everyday Hero” by the Orange County Register. Stuart was chosen for his unwavering dedication and support of ALS patients who are in need of his care.
The Orange County Register is a news organization that gives out awards and recognitions to average everyday people who are making a contribution to the community. Stuart has gone above and beyond as he not only helps people in Orange County, but throughout America.
Stu is unique in that he runs the entire ALS charity from his home in San Juan Capistrano. He handles all aspects of the charity from getting the mail, to flying out to the homes of people who have reached out an contacted him. Sometimes, hospitals and other organizations cannot care for the patients, and they turn around and call Stu for help.
For most charities in America, a good portion of the money that is donated goes towards the salaries of the executives and running the day-to-day operations. Not with Stuart. 100% of every single dollar that is donated to his charity goes towards helping people. Stuart does not take a single cent for a salary and he fronts the cost of running the charity with his own bank account. With the Ice Bucket Challenge so prevalent in the news, Stuarts donor list is growing by leaps and bounds.
After selling his Pharmaceutical company in the early 2000’s, instead of golfing and traveling the world, Stuar Millheiser set up the charity and dedicated himself and his efforts towards helping people in life with ALS.
