Subaru of Plano Partners with United By Blue for Trinity River Cleanup
Plano, Texas (PRWEB) October 22, 2013 -- Subaru of Plano, located at 4480 W Plano Pkwy in Plano, Texas is partnering with United By Blue (UBB) to host the Trinity River Cleanup event. The event will take place October 26 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Great Trinity Forest located at 4750 Great Trinity Forest Way in Dallas, Texas. Volunteers will be cleaning up trash and debris along the banks of the 710-mile long Trinity River. Paddlers are also invited to launch their canoes or kayaks to help clear debris that is not accessible from the river’s bank. Volunteers will receive a t-shirt, breakfast, lunch, cleanup supplies, bug spray and sunscreen. Cleanup volunteers are asked to wear long pants and closed toe shoes and can sign up by emailing their RSVP to cleanup(at)unitedbyblue(dot)com or by calling UBB at 215-642-0693.
Subaru of Plano joins six other Dallas area Subaru dealerships in UBB’s Trinity River Cleanup. The partnership stems from a national partnership that began two years ago between UBB and Subaru of America. UBB, an organization founded in 2010, promotes ocean conservation by selling sustainable apparel and jewelry. UBB explains on their website that, “With every product sold, UBB removes one pound of trash from oceans and waterways through company organized and hosted cleanups.” Subaru of America has partnered with UBB on four previous cleanups that collected over 20,000 pounds of trash to remove. Subaru of America is the official vehicle used at all UBB cleanups and starting with the Trinity River Cleanup, Subaru’s XV Crosstrek Hybrid will be the vehicle used to transport volunteers and supplies during cleanups. This Trinity River Cleanup will mark both the 100th overall UBB cleanup as well as the organization’s first cleanup in the state of Texas.
