Subaru Of Plano “Shares The Love” With North Texas Food Bank
Plano, TX (PRWEB) June 25, 2015 -- Subaru of Plano, an independently owned and operated dealership off Plano Pkwy, hosted the “Share the Love” event to celebrate the North Texas Food Bank. The mayor of Subaru was honored to be in attendance as prizes were given away and canned food was brought to be donated for the boys and girls that the North Texas Food Bank and Food 4 Kids Plano proudly serve. The largest contribution, however, was made by Subaru of Plano in the form of a $15,000 check in order to ensure a brighter future for the program and more importantly, the many people that depend on the North Texas Food Bank.

When kids get the nutrition they need, they experience improved performance physically, academically and socially, providing them an opportunity to succeed. Food for Kids Plano, now in its 2nd year of providing meals to the youth of Plano, will be able to provide around 3,000 meals to children in need with this newly acquired $15,000. These meals will not only be provided during the weekend but also during the week of Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Spring Break. Summer is an especially hungry time for the children in Collin County, over 44,000 or 20% of which are considered food insecure children who are actively struggling to find their next meal. In order to address this issue Plano Mayor Harry LaRosiliere has partnered with the North Texas Food Bank to work through the Food 4 Kids program to one day end hunger in North Texas.
