Succeed Management Solutions, LLC Introduces an Emergency Action Plan Training Course to their Online Training Library
Portland, OR (PRWEB) November 30, 2014 -- Organizations often think about occupational risk in terms of everyday situations that can affect a worker. These situations may include ensuring that a worker is practicing correct ergonomics, that proper lockout/tagout procedures are being followed, or that SDS’s are up-to-date and available to employees.
Not all risks are easily avoided with proper procedures and controls, however. Unexpected emergencies can occur at a workplace, such as a fire or chemical spill. Natural disasters can also occur without warning, such as an earthquake or tornado. And workforces can also face situations like a bomb threat or an active shooter.
It’s important to have an Emergency Action Plan in place. Emergency Action Plans provide step-by-step procedures for employees to follow in case of an emergency, such as a fire, chemical spill, or major accident. An Emergency Action Plan includes information, such as whom to notify in case of an emergency and who has been assigned evacuation, rescue, medical, or critical plant operation tasks. The Emergency Action Plan must also include the name and job title of every employee who may be contacted for more information about the plan or for an explanation of duties. Emergency Action Plans must be in writing, kept in the workplace, and available for review.
When emergency response procedures are known, practiced, and followed in emergency situations, fewer injuries and less damage will result. Employees who know what to do are less likely to get hurt and are more prepared should an emergency occur. Emergency Action Plans can help save lives. They can also help organizations reduce costs associated with medical claims.
Succeed Management Solutions, LLC has developed an Emergency Action Plan training course to help organizations reduce risks associated with being unprepared for an emergency. Trainees learn how to determine hazards that are already present in a workplace and develop a response for all potential emergencies. They are trained to assign responsibilities and designate individuals for various tasks during an emergency. Trainees also learn what to do if an emergency occurs, and how to develop and follow an evacuation plan.
As with all Succeed courses, this training can be assigned to employees via Training Track™, an application that is designed to automate all aspects of an employee training program. Training Track™ is one of the available applications in Succeed’s web-based Risk Management Center. The Risk Management Center also contains other OSHA-required programs, training materials, and integrated software solutions.
