Succeed Management Solutions, LLC Provides Essential Tool to Help Organizations Post Their OSHA 300 Log (an OSHA-Required Task) from February 1 to April 30, 2014
(PRWEB) January 30, 2014 -- The Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) requires that many organizations summarize and clearly post their OSHA 300 Log for the 2013 calendar year, beginning February through April 30, 2014. This form, called OSHA’s 300A Summary form, must include the total number of job-related injuries, accidents, and illnesses that occurred in 2013 and were logged on the OSHA 300 and 301 forms. The OSHA’s 300A Summary form needs to be presented in a common area and must be visible to all employees.
There have been some recent OSHA citations against companies that did not complete and post their OSHA 300 Logs. One company, for example, received an “other-than-serious safety violation for failing to maintain the OSHA 300 Logs for recording injuries and illnesses for five years” (article here). OSHA cited another violation for an organization “failing to initiate and maintain record keeping of the OSHA 300 injury and illness logs for the 2012 calendar year” (article here).
All organizations are liable for providing a safe and beneficial workplace for their staff. OSHA’s responsibility is to ensure these workplace environments are safe. Recording and reporting incidents is an essential part of the risk management process, and can help organizations avoid OSHA citations and fines.
Succeed Management Solutions, LLC has a software tool to assist organizations with their OSHA 300 Log compliance efforts. Incident Track™, one of the applications within the Succeed Risk Management Center™, is a valuable tool that provides incident tracking, trending, root-cause analysis, and reporting. After inputting all near miss incidents and injuries into the incident report form, Incident Track simultaneously completes the OSHA 300 Log, OSHA 300A Summary, OSHA 301 Form, First Report of Injury (FROI), Total Case Incident Rate (TCIR), and Restricted and Transferred (DART) reports. Incident Track can also help prevent future incidents and associated costs by identifying loss sources with the trending and graphing capabilities.
Incident Track’s OSHA reporting capabilities are also available within the OHSA 300 Log tool. This simplified tool gives users access to the OSHA 300 reporting capabilities of Incident Track. After entering all near miss incidents and injuries in the incident report form, users can print the OSHA reports as needed.
