Summit Medical Group Foundation (SMGF) Awards 76 Scholarships To New Jersey High School Graduates, Undergraduates and Graduate Students Pursuing Degrees In Medicine
Berkeley Heights, NJ (PRWEB) October 02, 2017 -- Summit Medical Group Foundation (SMGF), whose mission is to improve access to healthcare for underserved individuals in the community and to educate and inspire current and future healthcare leaders, has awarded scholarships to 76 outstanding students who are pursuing college degrees and careers in medicine or a healthcare-related field.
“This scholarship program is one of the principal reasons for starting Summit Medical Group Foundation,” says Jeffrey LeBenger, MD, FACS, Summit Medical Group Board Chair and Chief Executive Officer. “We are determined to provide medical help to the communities we serve, and to support up-and-coming students who are embarking on a career in the medical profession to change the health and lives of people all over our great state of New Jersey,” LeBenger adds.
The students, all part of Summit Medical Group Foundation’s 2017 Next Generation Scholarship Program, were required to meet the following criteria: All are enrolled in universities across the United States, are in good academic standing, are primary residents of New Jersey, and are pursuing studies in medicine or a healthcare-related field. All students have also provided proof of their university enrollment.
The top three outstanding Next Generation Scholarship Program awardees are:
• Leonardo Oliveira – American University of the Caribbean
• Geoffery Ofori Dwomfuo – Rutgers University New Brunswick

“We are very proud of all the recipients of the 2017 Next Generation scholarships,” says Joe Finocchiaro, SMGF Executive Director. “We believe all of our health and lives will continue to improve with this next generation of health professionals on the rise,” Finocchiaro adds.
