Berkeley Heights, N.J. (PRWEB) July 18, 2013 -- Summit Medical Group, New Jersey’s largest private multispecialty medical group welcomes Michele Nitti, D.O. and Jose Flores, D.O. cofounders of Montclair Family Practice.
Prior to founding Montclair Family Practice, Dr. Nitti practiced for 20 years with Franklin Pediatrics in Whippany, New Jersey. Before entering private practice, she practiced with an urgent care center in the Montclair area.
Dr. Nitti earned her bachelor of science cum laude at Muhlenberg College, Allentown, Penn., and she earned her doctor of osteopathy at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey School of Osteopathic Medicine, Stratford, N.J. After graduating, she completed her internship in medical and surgical specialties at Atlantic City Medical Center, Atlantic City, N.J. She completed her residency in family practice at Hackensack (UMC) Mountainside Hospital in Glen Ridge, N.J. Dr. Nitti is board certified in family practice.
Dr. Nitti is past president and a member of the Essex Fells Board of Education. She has been a member of the Hackensack (UMC) Mountainside Hospital Medical Executive Committee. She is a member of the Hackensack (UMC) Mountainside Hospital Bylaws Committee.
Dr. Nitti has appeared in New Jersey Monthly’s "Top Doctor" listings. She is a recipient of the 2011 Patient's Choice Most Compassionate Doctor Award.
Cofounder of Montclair Family Practice, Dr. Flores is also clinical assistant professor of family medicine at University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, Newark, N.J., and Saint George's University School of Medicine, Grenada, West Indies. He is school physician for Montclair Kimberly Academy, Montclair, N.J.
Dr. Flores earned his bachelor of science in biology at Albright College, Reading, Penn., and he earned his doctor of osteopathy at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey School of Osteopathic Medicine, Stratford. After graduating, he completed his internship at Atlantic City Medical Center, where he was designated chief intern. Dr. Flores completed his residency in family medicine with Mountainside Family Practice Associates and Mountainside Hospital in Montclair, and he completed his fellowship in sports medicine at Pascack Valley Hospital in Westwood, N.J. Dr. Flores is board certified in family practice.
Dr. Flores has practiced previously with Urgent Care of Hawthorne, Immedicenter of Bloomfield, Hackensack UMC Mountainside Hospital Occupational Medicine, and Roche Pharmaceuticals Employee Health Service, all in N.J. He has been a preceptor for the Hackensack UMC Mountainside Hospital Internal Medicine Residency Program.
Dr. Flores is vice chairman of the Hackensack UMC Mountainside Hospital Department of Family Practice. He is a board member of the Hackensack UMC Mountainside Hospital Independent Practice Association and he also is a member on the Board of Trustees of QualCare.
Dr. Flores has earned the Hackensack UMC Mountainside Hospital Teacher of the Year Award. He has appeared in New Jersey Monthly "Top Doctors" listings and Consumer's Checkbook "Top MD" listing.
Dr. Nitti and Dr. Flores will continue to see their patients at their current location, 230 Sherman Avenue, Glen Ridge.
