Sunmark Federal Credit Union’s Lisa Totaro Named Credit Union Rock Star by Credit Union Magazine
Latham, NY (PRWEB) November 20, 2013 -- Lisa Totaro, content manager for Sunmark Federal Credit Union, was named a Credit Union Rock Star by Credit Union Magazine.
In honor of International Credit Union Day (October 17), Credit Union Magazine published a special bonus issue dedicated to credit union rock stars, “ordinary people who are doing the extraordinary.”
Totaro is one of 48 rock stars from a cross-section of credit unions, leagues, and related organizations who were nominated by subscribers. In her nomination, Cara Carlevatti, member development coordinate for the Great Erie Federal Credit Union in Orchard Park, N.Y., wrote, “Lisa is a true definition of a leader in that she always puts what’s best for the organization ahead of what’s best for her.” Totaro was also praised for implementing Innovation Days, when members of the marketing team are asked to craft a project or idea in a single day and then present it to the rest of the department. The project ideas generated from these special days are already showing returns with a new productivity tool and a nontraditional employee communication channel.
In addition to her work at Sunmark, Totaro recently served as chairperson of Credit Union Association of New York (CUANY) Young Professionals Commission, helping to develop the statewide Young Professionals Network. She was named 2013 Outstanding Young Professional by CUANY and Trailblazer-40Below by the Credit Union Times. In 2011, Totaro was selected as a national participant for the Cooperative Trust’s “Crash the GAC” program. In 2012, she graduated from the National Credit Union Foundation Credit Union Development Educator (CUDE) program. She also is a member of the Credit Union National Association (CUNA) Marketing & Business Development Council, The Cooperative Trust and the Albany-Colonie Regional Chamber’s Women’s Business Council.
