Sunshine State News and Ed Dean Radio Launch Strategic Partnership
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (PRWEB) February 13, 2015 -- Ed Dean, the number one radio talk show host in Florida, is bringing his compelling voice to Sunshine State News (SSN).
SSN is proud to announce that Ed Dean will help lead the organization as its senior editor.
SSN and Dean together will bring their unique perspective on Florida politics to new formats. This dynamite partnership will provide the most comprehensive coverage of Florida politics.
“Everybody focuses on national issues,” Dean said. “But the most important politics are state and local. The major issues—taxes, education, unions, environmental issues—are happening in our backyard. Not everything happens in D.C. A lot of it takes place in Tallahassee and on the local level.”
Readers can look forward to new weekly column series, The Dean’s List, which will highlight Florida’s top political winners of the week.
“This is a really exciting time and a wonderful addition as we celebrate our fifth anniversary,” said Executive Editor Nancy Smith. “Ed Dean’s fresh perspective will truly resonate with SSN’s politically savvy readers.
As SSN continues its expansion, Dean will also spearhead SSN's radio presence through the "Florida Minute," an informative series of news breaks covering the latest in state politics. Dean and Kevin Derby, SSN’s senior political reporter who appears on a daily segment on the “Ed Dean Radio Show,” will host the thrice daily segments.
“Ed Dean is a dynamic, conservative voice who offers great insights on all levels of politics,” Derby said. “I’m glad our readers will join tens of thousands of radio listeners across Florida in being able to partake in Ed’s view of politics and issues.”
As Florida’s top-rated radio show host, Dean is no stranger to the Sunshine State’s politics. His show is featured Monday through Friday, 6 to 8 a.m. and 5 to 7 p.m. around the state. Dean is a regular financial and political commentator on Newsmax TV and a contributor to Fox News 35 in Orlando. In addition, he is a senior media analyst for the Taxpayers Protection Alliance, a Washington D.C. taxpayers advocacy group. Dean’s work has appeared in Florida Voices, the Space Coast Daily and SSN. Before that, he covered politics for Straight Talk, the Brevard Reporter and WMEL Radio where he won awards for his coverage of the 2004 hurricane season. Dean has also worked as a media consultant to politicians, campaigns and businesses groups at the state and national levels. Dean is the owner of the Florida Radio Network and serves on the Media Advisory Board of The American Media Institute.
“It's great to be working with Sunshine State News, the gold standard of Florida media,” Dean said. “I’m looking forward to helping expand their presence across Florida.”
