Superintendents to Watch Program Launched by NSPRA and West’s SchoolMessenger
SCOTTS VALLEY, Calif. (PRWEB) November 17, 2015 -- SchoolMessenger, the trusted platform for school community engagement and a part of West Corporation, today announced a partnership with the National School Public Relations Association (NSPRA) to launch Superintendents to Watch, a program designed to recognize K12 school district superintendents who are innovating in their communications initiatives.
As many as 25 superintendents will be recognized in the new program, which seeks to honor individuals with five years or less experience as a superintendent who effectively use communications to drive school and student success. A key selection consideration is how the nominees use modern communications technology to achieve their leadership objectives.
“Superintendents with innovative approaches to communication are creating new models for successful school-to-home interaction,” said Rich Bagin, executive director of NSPRA. “That’s why we’re pleased to partner with SchoolMessenger to create the Superintendents to Watch program. By honoring superintendents who are using new forms of communications technology to enhance time-tested communications techniques, we hope to provide our members with current best practices in parent and community engagement.”
Award winners will be celebrated at the NSPRA National Seminar, in Chicago July 17-20, 2016. The annual conference draws hundreds of school communications professionals and other administrators from across North America for professional development workshops, roundtable discussions on key issues, and networking opportunities. Winners will also be profiled in one of NSPRA’s electronic publications and receive a recognition award.
“As a provider trusted by more than 55,000 schools, we are very aware of the unique role that superintendents play in school communications, from parent notifications to school websites to district mobile apps,” said Robert Iskander, general manager. “We look forward to continuing to support the dynamic communications initiatives superintendents are implementing.”
K12 school administrators may nominate superintendents from any North American school district or school board. The nomination period is open now and will continue until Dec. 11, 2015.
