Superior Walls of America Sees 19% Growth in 2013 Over 2012
New Holland, PA (PRWEB) January 30, 2014 -- Year-end 2013 financial numbers for Superior Walls of America show a 19 percent growth for the company over 2012. The precast concrete manufacturer also anticipates an additional double-digit percentage increase during 2014.
"The housing market recovery accounts for about 70 percent of the growth increase for our company this past year," says Keith Weller, CFO of Superior Walls of America. "The additional 30 percent of growth is a grass roots effort to gain new customers in our market areas.
"Sales in 2013 were led by our Xi™ wall panel product line being used as foundations in residential new construction projects. We anticipate steady growth for this product again in 2014 along with very strong growth for our newer Xi Plus™ product line as more builders use this upgraded foundation system to meet code requirements in their markets."
Superior Walls Xi wall panels feature steel reinforced concrete and 2-1/2-inches of DOW® Styrofoam™ insulation to create a barrier against sidewall water penetration. The panels are custom designed and constructed in a factory-controlled setting. Unique features of the Xi wall panels include:
- 5,000+ PSI concrete
- Steel-reinforced top bond beams, concrete studs and footer beams
- Horizontal steel rebar inside top and bottom beams
- Vertical steel rebar inside each stud
- Insulated access holes for ease in wiring and plumbing
- Galvanized steel stud facing ready for drywall finishing
- Insulated corners, studs and bond beams
Superior Walls Xi Plus wall panels have many of the same features of the Xi walls, plus:
- Dow® THERMAX™ reinforced polyisocyanurate insulation covering rigid foam insulation
- A four-inch insulated footer beam
- A four-inch standard floor slab may be poured equal to the height of the footer beam eliminating the need for an additional screed board.
Xi Plus panels are available with a built-in insulation value of R-21.3 and can be insulated up to R-42+. The wall panels provide R-values that meet or exceed energy conservation values from both the IECC and the IRC, and the Xi Plus wall panels can help in the construction of an ENERGY STAR® qualified home.
Weller notes that the South and Midwest regions of the country brought the strongest sales growth to the company in 2013. "These appear to be areas of the country that were 'first in and first out' of the recession," says Weller. "Our licensees in these geographic locations are doing very well, as are those in parts of Pennsylvania and in New Jersey. In 2014, I expect our product sales to also accelerate throughout the entire Mid-Atlantic and New England areas, plus in Canada."
Licensees of Superior Walls of America manufacture precast concrete panels at facilities across the country that are used to form foundations for new construction homes and commercial projects. The Superior Walls insulated precast concrete wall systems have earned the National Green Building Standard™ Green Certified Product designation by Home Innovation Research Labs (formerly the NAHB Research Center). For homeowners, the benefits of Superior Walls foundations systems are substantial. The energy-efficient walls help lower energy costs and reduce energy leakage while providing increased living space in a comfortable setting.
