Superstar Foundation Recognizes High-Performing Social Service Professionals With Cash Award
Baltimore, MD (PRWEB) December 22, 2015 -- The Superstar Foundation recognizes and rewards high-performing direct service workers who use data to make a measurable difference in the lives in the individuals and families they serve. Today, the Foundation is pleased to announce the winners of this year’s Veronica Awards: Hamza Latif, Brian Palmeri, Wanda Steininger, and Kelly Thompkins. Each of these Veronica Award winners will receive a “no strings attached” $5,000 cash award from the Superstar Foundation.
Veronica Award winners are top performers in their organizations and are nominated to compete for the National Award by senior members of their management teams. Nominations highlight both their success stories and, more importantly, the data that shows why and how they succeed in achieving exceptional outcomes with their clients. This year’s winners come from a variety of human service domains from around the United States - Kelly is a foster care case manager in Florida; Hamza works with gang-involved youth in Springfield, MA; Brian provides financial counseling in Colorado; and Wanda works in the HIV/AIDS community in Philadelphia. “We established the Superstar Foundation to recognize the true game-changers in social services - the direct service worker,” says Steve Butz, founder of the Superstar Foundation. “We could not be more pleased with the huge increase in the quantity and quality of nominations for this year’s award from around the country. It is clear to us that great work is happening all over the country and, increasingly, we are able to demonstrate the correlation between high-performance and data informed decision making. Ultimately, we believe the use of data will drive transformational results in the lives of those we serve and the sector as a whole.”
This year, the Baltimore-based Superstar Foundation also partnered with the United Way of Central Maryland, Children’s Home Society of Florida and Social Solutions to identify regional and industry specific awardees. “We don’t know of any other organization in the country who is focusing on this critical key to success,” says Board Member, Adrian Bordone. “We are proud to have put our stake in the ground and are thrilled with the overwhelming response. The Foundation is actively seeking partners for 2016 and welcomes any and all inquiries from prospective partners who want to learn more about our work and use it to highlight high performance in their communities.”
