Supreme Group Expands Charitable Activities in Cote d'Ivoire
Reston, Virginia (PRWEB) October 11, 2013 -- Supreme Foundation, a registered charitable trust established by the global supply chain solutions provider Supreme Group, has expanded its charitable work in Cote d'Ivoire by supporting the Missionaries of Charity Sisters Abidjan, an orphanage and healthcare facility that cares for homeless and sick patients.
The Missionaries of Charity Sisters provides care, accommodation and support to around 110 children and adults, many of whom are suffering from serious illness and disease. Supreme Foundation provides meals to the patients and supports the organization by providing funding for the purchase of essential equipment such as gas water heaters and cookers, kitchen equipment, furniture, a medical disposal furnace, and a fridge-freezer.
“We select local projects to support in the areas where we operate, working with community leaders to achieve real results,” said Stephen Orenstein, Principal, Supreme Group. “Through our ability to leverage Supreme Group’s strengths, we have the expertise, facilities and networks to achieve real results that foster hope and give people better chances in life."
“Our local employees in the Ivory Coast have also made a tremendous effort by supporting the facility with any repair or maintenance works that are required, as the Sisters do not actively fundraise but predominantly rely on donations from local people. Practical assistance with regards to food, fuel, medical supplies and clothing for the children and patients goes a long way here,” added Victoria Frost, Director of Corporate Development, Marketing and Communications.
Supreme Foundation aims to alleviate hardship and improve the health, education and living conditions of disadvantaged children in conflict areas and remote regions around the world where Supreme Group operates. In addition to Ivory Coast, the Foundation has also made substantial investments in schools, healthcare facilities, and housing developments in Bosnia and Afghanistan.
